Why open stalls? We believe that among a horses basic needs are freedom to move around and socialization.  A horse's herd instinct is very strong and much comfort is derived from grazing or scratching or just swishing tails with another horse. Our open stall policy affords your horse the opportunity to participate in these activities or to stand inside to escape the sun or insects. It also provides a solution when inclement weather suddenly approaches. Your horse can choose to go inside without having to wait for someone to move them indoors. We like to give them credit for knowing when to come in out of the rain.
